A big Bluebay welcome to our newest team member, Calvin Hare, who has joined us as Procurement Manager.
Based at our Warrington depot, Calvin will support our teams nationwide as we continue to grow and expand our product range. He brings valuable supply chain experience from previous roles, as well as discipline and determination from his time as a semi-professional footballer. Here, Calvin tells us more about life on (and off!) the pitch.
I’ve spent much of my career working in procurement and across the supply chain, and I’m really pleased to be bringing that experience to a business like Bluebay.
One of my most notable recent roles was spending two and a half years with the telecoms business ITS, where I gained a solid understanding of logistics and commercial process. But I felt ready for a new challenge – and Bluebay offered exactly that. From the very first interview, I was struck by the energy, ambition and clarity of purpose shown by the leadership team. Both our Managing Director, Lucy Furnival, and Sales Director, Emma Ward, made a lasting impression on me – not just because of their professionalism, but because of their genuine passion for the business and its people. I can already see that sense of drive runs right through the wider team.
There’s a clear and shared vision at Bluebay, and it’s obvious that everyone is pulling in the same direction. You have to only look at the company’s momentum to see it in action. Growth is happening right now and I’m proud to be one of several new appointments this year, joining the business at a time of real expansion. Most recently, we opened our fifth depot down in Thurrock – a significant step in extending our national footprint and strengthening our ability to serve customers right across the country. Being part of that journey is incredibly exciting, and I can’t wait to play my part in what comes next.
The job itself may be familiar – but it’s the culture and people that set Bluebay apart. There’s a positive energy here that’s genuinely refreshing, and it gives me confidence that this is the right environment for me to thrive.
I’ll be based primarily in Warrington, supporting colleagues nationwide as we expand our offer. I live just down the road in Skelmersdale, so it’s great to be part of something local – but with a national reach.
Outside of work, I’m a semi-professional footballer for Prescot Cables and a busy dad to two little ones – Arthur and Ada – so I’m no stranger to staying on my toes!
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be focusing on getting to know the team, understanding where we are and where we want to be, and identifying opportunities to add value. I already feel like part of the Bluebay family and I’m genuinely excited for what lies ahead – for me, and for the business.
